the story behind this painting began with three artists sitting at the Taos inn talking about art. Each one with a different medium and style. Watercolor, oil, and acrylic. Flowing, surrealism, and design with color. The thought was tossed out for each of us to do the same subject in our respective styles and mediums. The first subject was “Tree of Life”
I choose to represent the tree as a figure as a woman surrounded by two hummingbirds. My mother adored hummingbirds. She imparted so much more to me than just the gift of birth.
